BIOGRAPHY

Pardaig was formed around 1999, when its sole member
begun a transition from the Metal/Rock realm to a sonic
environment dominated by electronic rather than acoustic
instruments.

In fact, Pardaig had since many years an important
interest for synthetisers and samples, his favorite music
styles being, at that time, melodic synth-driven atmospheric
Black Metal (Burzum, Emperor, etc.) and electronic Industrial
music like that of Skinny Puppy.

A brief Techno Trance phase later left a mark as an interest for
more accessible rythms, though this style was soon dropped in
favour of symphonic as well as ambiant influences, which suit
best the project.

Numerous sub-styles are experienced in the Pardaig sound,
such as Hardcore/Noise leanings merged to a Classical undertone,
like in Résistance. Fresher material tends to go towards
emotional and tragic moods rather than the agressive/political
themes of the beginning. The overall sound is stripped down and
the general direction simplified, less varied, while keeping the
character of the project and striving to stay unique.

A track such as Malade could define the Pardaig sound :
slow, powerful and combining Industrial, Symphonic as well
as a brief Noise middle-section together with some samples.
Adding guitars and voice tracks are some of the changes having
taken place recently in the band's evolution, which may develop
into a full-fledged Dark Pop entity one day... Until then, please

pages available on all things Pardaig, some of them giving
a good idea of its evolution throughout the years.
